Towards that end, I can see it working out pretty well in a sideboard of a Tempo-minded strategy for Grixis Twin, as essentially causing your opponent a land (and quite possibly a turn) while cantripping is awesome.

In that sense, it's definitely a 'fool me once' type of card - it most likely loses appeal the more prevalent it is in a specific strategy, and is at its best when nobody expects it.
